In the movie, “Pay it Forward” many people were inspired by a young boy who set out to change the world because someone asked him to. The seventh grader was asked “What does the world expect of me?” and he answered “nothing”.
These two statements really had me thinking at this time of year when people are renewing new year’s resolutions and listing goals to achieve in the months ahead. If we are under the impression that the world does not expect anything of me then it will be harder to reach the set goals. If on the other hand, you believe there is an expectation that each one of us carries to be a part of change and the movement forward in evolution then our hopes and dreams have a fighting chance.
Ghandi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”.
Wow, if we took this to heart and belived it, then maybe we could make a difference… across the globe and in our own communities.
Here is something to think about:
1) list what changes you would like to see in yourself, family, work place, church, organization, community, country, and even across the globe.
2) pick something that inspires you and that you feel passionate about
3) imagine what life would look like if it were so
4) draw or cut pictures about it and post it up on the wall or a board
5) remind yourself daily of how you see the change
6) create affirmations about the change and say them daily
7) keep a gratitude journal of what things you are grateful for daily
Then, take ACTION and move toward your goal.
What will you do to change the world and what will you do to pay it forward this year?

Enjoyed your article, particularly the quote from Ghandi, “Be the change you wish to see in the world”. The boy in the film did this, by altering his answer to the question of what the world expected of him, from “nothing”, to creating and living into a vision for himself and his mother.
So for 2008 I will start by being more of what I would like to see show up in the world. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and keep up the good work.

When you become the vision, your vibration level is raised to a higher level of conciousness. At that point you will attract more of the same high level vibration. Image what the world would be like if this happened everyday by many people around the globe.
